Gooshie completed the money transfer successfully this morning, but our neuro-hybrid computer Ziggy has informed me that there is a very high percentage of probability that there is a problem with this transaction. He is working on it now so I am waiting for his information before proceeding. I understand the need for urgency and haste, but although Ziggy is flighty, his advice usually turns out to be right in the end.

Meanwhile, in an interesting coincidence, Sam's latest Leap has taken him into the persona of a gentleman named Roy Munson, who is involved in a similar transaction with someone who is also from Nigeria. Roy apparently has an Amish friend who is to be the beneficiary of funds from a Nigerian widow. Ziggy hasn't figured out Sam's purpose yet (the poor man has to accomplish something wherever he leaps in order to hopefully get home someday). Perhaps it is to facilitate the transaction in some way. I'll be visiting with him as soon as I'm done on the computer and see how that whole thing is going and whether Ziggy has any further information.

Gooshie sent the money as requested, so obviously we are doing what is required. I can most certainly do that. Just let me know which bank, as the location that Ziggy located is disavowing any knowledge of the people with whom I was dealing. Gooshie contacted them from town when he went to Western Union to see about recalling the funds, and the gentleman he spoke with advised that this is a case of fraudulent activity. I must say that I had my own suspicions, given that the bank website was not a secure connection and gave a javascript error when the form was submitted. The poorly done frames were another clue.

But I like to give the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise, which is why I had Gooshie do the transfer but did not release the information to the "bankers" until there was further investigation. We are a high-tech facility dealing with quantum physics and technology that you can't even begin to imagine, so we know how simple it is to create and run a website.

Interestingly enough, the same proved to be true of Sam's latest leap. Although he was uncomfortable wearing a giant condom suit for public appearances (apparently that is Roy's job), his suspicions drew him to enlist the aid of a savvy banker named Randy Quaid to discover that Roy's friends were about to be victims of the same sort of scam, with Roy himself as the unwitting helper. The plan was aborted, and he's off on a new leap into a florist named Seymour who has a very strange business partner named Twoey. That should be an interesting one!

But I'm sure you don't care about all that. Good luck on finding a new "beneficiary."
