A Kindly Contributor ran across this Lad-o-gram on the Epinions web site.
"The above link is a screenshot ... of Epinions.com, a site where I just so happen to frequent quite a bit. In searching around one evening what do I find but a new and frankly quite odd spin on the good old Nigerian scam - But this extra special loon actually went through the trouble of registering an Epinions ID, finding a still obscure product with no reviews on it, and making up bogus ratings, pros, and cons and all the other little boxes Epinions makes you fill out before you can submit a review. And, to top it all off, [it] is a site that doesn't actually sell any product!
Seriously, how can this scammer expect anyone to be dim enough to bite at that bait? It doesn't even make sense.
So, verily did I shake my head in disbelief, take a screenshot, and zap this poor fools lousy attempt at ripping someone off. Or something. Or maybe he's angling for the review commision. Honestly, I'm not sure."
