Scam o Rama 26

...the suffering masses of the Niger Delta (Kenneth Birabi [P.hd])

This was sent to a party in Australia & it is really shameless. It's *almost* not funny. Somehow I don't think Ken Saro Wiwa died so these guys could scam people. In other respects it is a classic Lads letter. Formatting has not been changed much. Kenneth Birabi may be this guy, or maybe it's a made-up name, or maybe he's the local grocer, oblivious to all of it.

Petroleum (special) Trust Fund

KARIMU KOTUN STREET,
VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS

Dear [ kindly contributor ],

Your contact and particulars were given to me by an official of our diplomatic mission in your country who vouched for you as an honest and trustworthy fellow who could champion a business of this magnitude. Iam Kenneth Birabi an Ogoni Nigerian, who is currently the chiarman of the contract award panel in the Petroleum Trust Fund[P.T.F].Ihappen to come from the Niger Delta Area which produces crude oil which accounts for about 95% of the country's foreign exchange earnings .The Northern oligarchy who have ruled this country since our independence have used the oil wealth from my area to enrich themselves leaving nothing to national treasury, let alone the suffering masses of the Niger Delta. In order to silence us the more ,our spokesman and mouthpiece Mr. Kenule Saro Wiwa with eight others kinsmen of mine were murdered on Nov.,9th 1995 for pleading our course.

In the spirit of reconciliation for the injustice done to my people, the present regime of Gen Olusegun Obasanjo, appointed me the chairman contract award panel of the [PTF] which is a body set up by the Late Head of State Gen. Sanni Abacha to manage the excess revenue accruing from the sale of petroleum and its allied products,as a result of domestic increase in pump price of petroleum products..

Consequently, the estimated annual revenue for 1998 was 47billion USDollars. Members of my panel and I over shot this target by 378 million USD by Nov 11 1998. We have declared the sum of 47.360 Billion U.S.D to the Federal Military Government of Nigeria with-holding the balance of 18 Million U.S.D. reference 115 Unit 3d, paragraph "F" of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria's report 1998 on Federal Republic of Nigeria Estimated Revenue.

Because of the existing domestic laws forebiding Civil Servants from opening, operating and maintaining foreign accounts, we do not have the expertise to transfer this balance of funds into a foreign account. Moreover this balance of 18 Million U.S.D has been secured in form of credit/payment to a foreign contractor. If you maintain a corporate/personal offshore account, could you please furnish me with your bank details including your personal telephone/fax numbers where I can always reach you.We have also arrived at a conclusion that you will be compensated to the tune of 25% of the total sum of money transfered into your account while 5% will be reserved for incidental expenses that both parties will incur in the course of executing and actualizing this transaction. The balance of 70% will be kept to our selves. If you are capable of helping us actualize our life's dream, send an E-MAIL to me today giving your personal details. This transaction is highly confidential because of the top ranking government officials involved in the transaction. The transaction is also risk free.

Let me hear from you today.
KIND REGARDS,
KENNETH BIRABI[P.hd]
