Attached below is a scam e-mail I received from someone claiming to be Lady Maryam Abacha of Nigeria below. There is an e-mail address and several telephone/fax numbers included as well. Please use it at your discretion. While I did not respond to the message, I have heard of the 419 scam and decided to report the message to the proper authorities (and to those who find amusement in them). Please be advised that I suffered no financial loss in receiving this e-mail. This is for your reference only.

My wife also received a similar e-mail, although at a different return e-mail address. Please let me know if you would like me to forward that message to you as well. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Footnote: You may recognize a few names. "Bello" here is ALHAJI BELLO ABACHA, "brother-in-law" of "mariam abacha". The Bello name is a proud one in Lad lore. In earlier letters a "Bello" pled on behalf of Lady Mariam. I guess if you want something done right... not sure why all the "    " marks, maybe "she" was sitting in front of an old vt100 terminal. Most have been removed so your eyes don't get hurt, & it was all in caps, but why should we inflict that on you?
