Scam o Rama 76

Though my father died a natural death ( Lamin Bangura )

Sez a kindly contributor in the UK:
Sierra Leone and Ghana this time!  This is the exact text of a letter sent to my husband a few weeks ago. In the hope of getting this lad to incriminate himself, I faxed back "Please fax full details of your proposal to me on (fax no.).  Thank you."  and signed with my initial and maiden surname.  We did not get more information, but did get a number of answering-machine messages and one fax begging us to telephone him.  I ignored all these.  Then on 2 August, we received a further fax telling us that "all arrangements for the money to get to Holland has finally been concluded" and insisting that our "presence will be required by the security company handling this transaction" and so on.  It ended "I await your fax, informing me about your trip to Holland."  Signature and date handwritten as before.

So at the cost to me of one 30-second fax, I'm happy to say I have caused him to incur the costs of N phone calls and two more faxes, from which he will get no benefit whatsoever.

Regards, and safe transacting!

Dear Partner,
RE: URGENT BUSINES PROPOSAL

I am Lamin Bangura the eldest son of Timu Bangura who is the immediate past minister finance of the Federal Republic of Sierra Leone.  Though my father died a natural death sometime last year he left some documents as regards some transactions with some colleagues of his while in office.  In fac they (i.e. my father and his colleagues that can not be mentioned here) succeeded in keeping the sum of Sixty two million US dollars ($62 M USD) in cash in a safe trust/security firm in Ghana a neighbouring West African State

After my father's death the president Tijan Kabbah government started a probe into his dealings and those of his colleagues.  The government was getting close to finding some incriminating evidence against them when the renewed clashes between the R U F rebels lead by Foday Sankoh and my country's government began.  This lead to the destruction of many government establishment, including the Central Bank of Sierra Leone and the Ministry of Finance buildings, where records of the probe were kept.  Hence no real evidence to continue the probe.

Now that there are no records, I have been mandated by father's colleagues to come to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to sort and conclude the transfer of this fund, with the aid of a trustworthy person(s) that can keep this transaction a top secret.  And has the machinery (i.e. credible firm, etc) to file claims of this funds on our behalf.

This assistance from you is necessary because each and everyone of us and our dealings are being closely monitored by the government of our country.

However be rest assured that this transaction is hitch free as my father's colleagues and I have mapped out strategies to give this transaction a diplomatic coverage.

We have earmarked 30% of this sum to you for your participation, 10% for any expenditure incurred in course of this transaction and the balance of 60% for me and my colleagues in Ghana.  Please also note that you shall help us invest our share of this money in a viable business in your country after this business is concluded.

Please I await your urgent response to this proposal should you be/not be interested in this business.

Best regards,
Lamin Bangura (followed by signature and date, handwritten  -  28/06/00)

And of course, the rest...
