The Opening salvo

14/11/2003 PLS KINDLY ASSIST MY FAMILY

The Palace of King of Ogoni Kingdom, Ogoni Oil producing community, Rivers State Nigeria.

Dear Sir,

I am Princess IFEOMA , daughter of HRH King Solomon Abonime, the king of Ogoni Kingdom. I am 25 years old and a graduate of Mass Communication. My father was the king of Ogoni Kingdom the highest oil producing area in Nigeria. He was in charge of reviving royalties from the multi-national oil companies and government on behalf of the oil producing communities in Nigeria. After the hanging of the Ogoni Nine(9) including Ken Saro Wiwa by the late dictator General Sani Abacha, my father suffered stroke and died in August27th this year. But before his death, he called me and told me he has Thirty Million dollars (USD30,000,000.00) cash in his possession, specially deposited in a Security vault company here. He advised me not to tell anybody except my mother who is the last wife of the (8) eight wives that he married. My mother did not bear any male child for him. Which implies that all my father's properties, companies e.t.c., we have no share in them because my mother has no male child according to African Tradition. My father therefore secretly gave me all the relevant documents of the said money, and told me that I should use this money with my mother and my younger sisters because he knows that tradtionally, if he dies we cannnot get anything, as inheritance. He importantly advised me that I should seek foreign assistannce and that I should not invest this money here in Nigeria because of his other wives and male children who happen to be my elders. I am soliciting for your immediate assistance to get a Bungalow for us, where I will live with my mother and two younger sisters and further advise me where and how I will invest the balance money overseas, possibly on products of your company and other profitable ventures. I believe that by the special grace of God, you will help us move this money out of Nigeria to any country of your choice where we can invest this money judiciously with you. You are entitled to a reasonable part of this money based on our agreement, and God will bless you as you help us. PLease reply through my e-mail Looking forward to hear from you as soon as possible. Regards. Princess

Your Royal Highness,

I trust I have chosen the correct term of address. I am not used to corresponding with royalty. Here in France we are a republic. The last French king, Louis XVI, met an untimely death and the country has struggled on without him ever since. An attempt at an empire by some Corsican upstart was shortlived. And Caroline and Stephanie de Monaco hardly qualify as royalty, I'm sure you would agree.

I regret that I am unable to accede to your request for a bungalow. I have recently let the last remaining few to :

Princess Esther Abonime
Princess Grace Abonime
Princess Joyce Abonime
Princess Jenifer Abonime and
Princess Tina Joy Abonime.

Strangely, you are all 25 years old and you are all graduates of Mass Communication. There seems to be a certain lack of originality in the career choices in your family.
And was there a major electricity blackout in Nigeria in early 1978 ?
With his other 7 wives did your father ever get around to breeding males ?

Yours sincerely

Algernon Sidney Montagu

Dear Princess,

Finding a half decent photo of me wasn't easy. Shearing is tough, dirty, dusty work. And even if I now oversee a team of 50 shearers, by the end of a working day I'm just as dirty as them. Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

19 November

Dear Mr Tijani?

Thanks for your reply. No problems co-operating with the Princess. I haven't said anything to anyone but the blokes at the Tallygaroopna pub would die laughing if they knew I was knobbing it with royalty.

Send me all the paperwork as soon as you've got it organised.

When will I have to come to Nigeria ? We've got a huge contract on the go at present and it won't finish for another fortnight. Is that okay ?

No problems for the princess to come to visit, before or after the contract. But I'd better warn you, shearing's a tough game here on the edge of the Outback. Conditions are probably a lot tougher than what a princess is used to.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

21 November

I'm sorry that i've taken some time to get back to you but my major priority at present is finishing my big shearing contract. We've got to shear 380,000 sheep in 2 weeks. I've put on extra shearers to get the job done. We're a little ahead of time so that's reassuring. But overseeing just under 100 shearers is heavy work. With any luck we'll be finished by next Friday or Saturday. Then I'll be able to give the princess and her operation all my attention.

I've received both the certificate of deposit and the power of attorney. I'm no lawyer but they seem straightforward.

Thanks for the e-mail address of David West. I'll e-mail him later today.

Once again, sorry for the delay.

Kind regards,

Dear Mr West,

Mr Tijani, a lawyer in Nigeria, has told me to write to you concerning the affairs of Princess Ifeoma Abominobe. I understand you are holding something on consignment for the her.

Please reply telling me what I have to do.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

When are you coming to Tallygaroopna ?

21 November

Dear Princess,

How are you today ? Okay, I hope. Mr Tijani seems to have got all excited because I didn't write to him for over 24 hours. He's got to realise that keeping almost 100 shearers hard at work in tough conditions doesn't happen by just twiddling my thumbs. Ayway, I think I've calmed him down and I've shot off an e-mail to some bloke called David West that has something to do with where the money is on consignment.

In one of his e-mails Mr Tijani asked me to make arrangements for you to come here. That's okay by me. All the blokes I know will be wrapped to see me with a real princess. The only thing that worries me a bit is that conditions here at Tallygaroopna aren't what you must be used to as a princess. Life's pretty tough here in the Outback. And my place is nothing like a palace. It's a comfortable house and I even had airconditioning put in about 12 months ago. But how many people from your court (servants and so on) would be coming with you ? I can put up 3 or 4 other than you no worries but if you're going to travel like the Queen of England or something I'll have to organise extra accomodation. They've got good rooms at the Tallygaroopna Pub and it's only about 15 minutes drive from my place. Otherwise, there's a great motel with a pool at Burrumbuttock, but that's almost 2 hours drive away and the road's bloody terrible. Let me know your plans ?

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

P.S. Joylene, the barmaid at the Tallygaroopna Pub, wants to know where you got the terrific necklace in your photo. Could you get her one like it ?

21 November

Dear Mr West,

Thanks for getting back to me quickly.

I can't come to Amsterdam next week. I originally thought that I had to go to Nigeria which would have been even more trouble. I've got about 100 blokes shearing as hard as they can because we've got to finish a contract to shear 380,000 sheep in 2 weeks. We're about halfway through now. I should have a good idea when we'll finish around Thursday next week.

All I can say at present is that I'll fly Qantas. I always support Australian companies. I don't know if they fly direct to Amsterdam from Australia or if they fly through London. I've never been to Europe before so I'll have to find out. I'll go into Burrumbuttock tomorrow. There's a travel agency there that should be able to tell me. I'll let you know as soon as I get the info.

No worries for the passport, the photos and the certificate of deposit. Mr Tijani sent me a power of attorney. Do I need to bring that too ?

I'm surprisedat how much I've got to pay. I'm not too hot on currency exchange rates but I worked it out at around AU$13,000. That's heaps of dough. Are you sure of your figures ? If it's that much I'll need to have a word with the princess because she's never mentioned anything about it before. Does she know about it ?

Have a good weekend.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

21 November

Dear Mr Tijani,

I've had an e-mail from David West at the security company. I've told him I won't know when I can come to Amsterdam until late next week. I'll start making inquiries tomorrow.

He doesn't need any more documents but I've got to come up with 7,520 euros (that's about AU$13,000) for some sort of charges. That's the 1st time I've heard of it. I'm going to see what the princess says.

About my phone. I suddenly realise I didn't give you the prefix. Out here in the Outback it's a waste of time trying to have a mobile phone. There aren't enough aerials. And in my game I'm all over the place, so a fixed phone's useless as well. Years ago, before my shearing business got really big I used to tell people to leave a message with Joylene at the Tallygaroopna Pub and I'd get it when I called in for a beer. But now I've got 50 permanent shearers and just as many casual ones, the show's got too big. One of my mates put me onto the voicemail and fax idea. It works like a charm. I get all my faxes on my computer screen and messages whenever anyone uses my voicemail. The number I gave you is the right one. But you've got to dial +1 before it. It's an international service that operates out of America.

I'll let you know what the princess says about the 7,520 euros.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

21 November

Dear Princess,

I think we've got a bit of a problem but I'm sure you and I can work it out.

When you first wrote to me you said that you'd give me "a reasonable part of this money" (your words). That seems perfectly normal to me but you've never said how much. I'd like to know what percentage you're proposing to give me.

Because the other part of the problem is that now I discover i've got to go to Amsterdam to do the transfer. That doesn't really bother me because I understand it's a great place and there are lots of things to see and do. But it means a plane ticket from Australia to Europe, hotels and so on.

And now David West from the security company says I've got to come with 7,520 euros (that's about AU$13,000) to pay some sort of fee. We're starting to talk big money now and I don't even know how much you're going to give me.

I've told David West and Mr Tijani that I'm not doing anything u ntil i've heard from you. Please give me your feelings.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Dear Pat McKrutch,

Actually i was worried because you just kept me in the dark but now i understood what and the nature of your job but i urge you to always make out time to attend to the issue of how the consignment will be released to you.

Pat, you do not have to worry about the condition in Tallygaroopna because i want to taste and see the other side of life out side the palace so i need such expirences as a guide to the new life i'm about to live out side the palace.

Concerning my visit,i will only travel with my two younger sisters and three maids just to get acustom to Tallygaroopna before i can then decide on the number of servants i will fly in also.

Tell Joylene that the Necklace is a special one which only the princess can wear to traditional occasions but i do not mind bringing the smaller necklaces for few of your loved ones.

You didn't tell me the outcome of your discussions with the security company officers in Holland (ie) how the consignments will be released to you. please Pat,you just have to keep me posted at all times, you know i trust and believed in you to make this a reality.

My Advise to you is that you just have to adhere strictly to the instructions of the Security officers because you must believe with me that all we are intrested is just how the consignment will be released to you no matter what it takes as that will also facilitate my traveling arrangements with my sisters and three maids.

Mail and brief me your discussions with security company and what your plans are towards the claim.

I await your ealiest responseas my younger sisters extends their greetings/gratitude to you.

Dear Pat,

Just few minutes ago i discussed with my attorney andi instructed him to mail or call you and let you know that the amount which the security company charged is not something that will stop us from receiving the fund.

It was after i have discussed with him that i checked my mail box and found your latest mail.

Yes you are right because before one goes into anyventure he or she must have given it a serious thought as to what he/her stands to gain considering what ever role he/she has to play.

I have in mind to give to you 25% of the total sum while i wish to invest a reasonable amount into a business of your advise over there because i have never gone into business in my life before so i wouldn't want to end up making mistakes so this is another area were you have to play a very important role in my life.

What do you think about the offer? also let me know when you intend to visit Amsterdam to claim the fund.

I need answers from you based on the above two questions.v So as it is now,Please tell Mr west when you will be visiting Amsterdam so that they start working on the paper works(processing what ever that needs to be processed to avoid wasting your time when you arrive Amsterdam.

I want to hgear from you soon on the receipt of this mail.

24 November

Dear Princess,
Sorry I haven't been in touch since Friday but I've been working so hard to get this shearing contract finished, particularly since I"ll be away for some time after it in Amsterdam.

Also I was waiting for the travel agency in Burrumbuttock to get back to me with some flight information. I went there on Saturday morning but their computer was down and they've only just sent me a proposed scedule. They suggest :

Sunday November 30 Qantas flight QF001 leaving Sydney at 5.55 p.m. arriving in London on Monday December 1 at 6.25 a.m. I've only got an hour and 5 minutes before I fly out to Amsterdam at 7.30 a.m. on Qantas flight QF 3428 arriving at 9.45 a.m. If my flight from Sydney to London is delayed there are later flights to Amsterdam so that shouldn't cause any problem.

I still can't be sure of when the shearing contract ends but I've told the travel agency to book me on the flights above. I'll let David West know these details so he can organise someone to pick me up.

I've noted you'll be coming to Tallygaroopna initially with your 2 younger sisters and 3 maids. Are your younger sisters also called princesses ? If the 3 maids accept to sleep in the same bedroom I can put you all up at my place. If not, they'll have to sleep at the Tallygaroopna Pub. Let me know. When do you plan to visit ? How old are your sisters ? Can you send me a photo of the 3 of you together ?

It's a pity only princesses are allowed to wear the big necklaces. What are they made of ? Perhaps Joylene could be made a sort of honorary princess so you could bring her one of the big necklaces. If you can't arrange that just get her a smaller one. Thanks.

25% of the money is okay by me, provided you pay all my expenses for going to Amsterdam. Okay ?

I still reckon the administrative and clearance charges are pretty steep but it looks like we haven't got any choice. Do they accept credit cards ? I wouldn't want to be travelling right across the world with that much cash shoved in my pocket.

I'll send an e-mail to your lawyer later on to fill him in.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

24 November

Dear Mr Tijani,

I'm sorry I'm just getting around to replying to your e-mail. I'm flat out trying to finish the shearing.

The princess has sent me a few e-mails giving me some info about her visit to Tallygaroopna. We'll look after her and her 2 sisters in trus Aussie style. I hope they like barbecues.

I've made arrangements for a flight to Amsterdam that arrives there next Monday morning. I hope that's okay. I'll send the details to David West.

I'm not too happy with having to pay all those charges in Amsterdam. But it looks like the bastards have got us by the balls.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

24 November

Dear Mr West,

The travel agency has booked me on a flight to Amsterdam via London. I arrive in Amsterdam at 9.45 a.m. next Monday, December 1 on Qantas flight QF 3428. I've only got a bit over an hour between the flight from Sydney to London and the one to Amsterdam. If the one from Sydney is late I won't make my connection. But the girl at the travel agency said there are later flights to Amsterdam so there'll be no problems.

I've never been to Europe before so I obviously don't know hotels in Amsterdam. Could you recommend me a comfortable one, not too expensive and centrally located to the interesting things to visit ?

I've consulted the princess concerning your charges. She tells me they have to be paid before the consignment is released. I find 7,52O euros very expensive and I don't want to be travelling with all that money on me in cash. Do you take credit cards? I have an international Visa card and American Express.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

You charge like a wounded bull !!

24 November

Dear Mr West,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Arriving in Amsterdam on Monday morning I should be able to come to your office during the afternoon. Please organise the amount of time we'll need. I'll let your man guide me when he picks me up at the airport.

You say you'll organise me a hotel close to your office. Thanks for that. I hope it's centrally located because i want to see the sights as well. They tell me you can see the girls in the windows. They'd go wild in Tallygaroopna if we had that.

About the fees. The bloke who looks after me at the bank said to just take my credit cards with me and to use the automatic teller machines once I arrive in Amsterdam. Please make sure your man who's picking me up leaves enough time for me to withdraw the 7,520 euros. It will take 2 tries because I'm limited to AU$5,000 with my Visa card and AU$10,000 with Amex. I still reckon you charge like a wounded bull.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Dear Pat McKrutch,

I have gone through the mail you forwarded to me which you sent to Mr David West of the Security Company.

I believe that they will attend to you early enough so that you will also have enough time to come back in case you want to travel back. I've no intention of staying in Amsterdam the rest of my life !!

Please it has always been my prayer that we shall do some other things in common in the near future.

26 November

Dear Mr West,

We've had a slight delay in shearing about 30% of the ewes because of acute bouts of Lake Eyre nipple fever. But it won't effect the contract finishing date. The blokes are working like cut cats and Friday lunchtime we'll all be in the Tallygaroopna Pub to celebrate. So I'll be catching the plane in Sydney on Sunday as planned. And you and I'll do our business in Amsterdam on Monday.

Kind regards,

Pat McKrutch

All work and no play ..... !!

26 November

Dear Mr West,

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy as they say. After we've done our business on Monday afternoon I'd like to invite you to some classy restaurant for dinner. You choose the place because I don't know any. Afterwards, could you give me a guided tour of the red light district and line me up with a couple of girls for the night ? I don't speak anything other than English and even that's with a strong Aussie accect. So, it'll need to be 2 girls who can get their tongue around an Australian, you know what I mean. I want 2 who'll do everything I want, Dutch girls with blonde hair and big tits. I'll pay well and you won't be sorry for the assistance I promise you.

This is just between you and me. I'm obviously saying nothing about it to the princess and her lawyer.

Kind regards,

Pat McKrutch

THE NAME OF THE PROTOCOL OFFICER IS MR MATHINS KEZITO. BUT IN CASE YOU MISS WITH MR MATHINS MAYBE AS A RESULT OF RUSH IN THE AIRPORT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN JUST CALL ON THIS NUMBER 064170XXXX FROM THE AIRPORT BUT I KNOW YOU WILL MEET EACH OTHER AT ONCE AS SOON AS YOU DISCRIBE YOUR CLOTHES AND COLOUR AND THE PLAY CARD TOO WILL HELP.
SO ON THIS NOTE I WISH YOU A VERY PLEASANT AND ENJOYABLE FLIGHT TO AMSTERDAM AND I ALSO WISH YOU A HAPPY STAY IN AMSTERDAM. I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOONEST. DR DAVID WEST.

26 November

Dear David,

Thanks for setting me up with a couple of sheilas. I like them with really huge tits. So make sure they've got chests like blonde gorillas.

I'll keep an eye out for Mathins Kezito at the airport. With the sign it shouldn't be hard to spot him. I've always laughed at those blokes holding signs like that at airports but I suppose they're efficient. Have you got a photo of him ? I've sent my photo to the princess but in case she hasn't sent it to you I've attached it. Mathins will spot me fairly easily, I'm 187 cm tall, thin and wiry and I've got a cow cocky's suntan, just my face, neck and forearms. I'll be wearing denim jeans and a bright red T shirt with "I got pissed at the Tallygaroopna Pub" in yellow across the front and a huge glass of beer on the back.

See you on Monday.

6 new sets of sheets from Outback Trading

26 November

Dear Princess,
I'm just back from a counter lunch at the Tallygaroopna Pub. When I told Joylene she was okay for the big pink necklace she got so excited she dropped a tray with 3 jugs of beer, 2 bloody marys and a brandy alexander. The pub dog was into it like a rat up a drainpipe. He'll sleep until tomorrow night with that much grog in him. Joylene says thanks.

I've ordered 6 sets of new sheets from Outback Trading so you and your sisters and your maids will be real comfortable at my place.

27 November

Dear Princess,
I haven't got much time because tomorrow we finish the shearing contract and tonight i'm trying to tie up all the paperwork, particularly the invoicing. 2 things I thought of, 1 important, the other less so.

There's probably a good reason why it can't be done but since David West's company is holding your money on consignment why don't you or I tell him to take his charges out of it and just give me the balance ? That'd save me having to pull money out of my bank account when I arrive in Amsterdam with exchange rates and all the rest. Do you know the answer or will you have to get in touch with Mr Tijani or even David West ?

The other small thing is should I bring a gift of something Australian for David West, a boomerang or an Aussie rugby jumper or something. I don't know what business customs are in Europe and I wouldn't want to arrive with nothing if everyone always brings presents.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

P.S. Joylene liked your kind words. She's looking forward to meeting you and your sisters.

Date: Thu, 27 Nov 2003 11:26:22 +0000 (GMT)

Dear Pat Mckrutch,

I have in the past suggested through Barrister Usman Tijani the issue of taking out money from the fund by the security company as their fees or charges but the answer we got was that since the fund was "BONDED" they the Security Company can not tamper with such BONDED FUND.

I will also want you to try from your end and tell David West if they can take whatever is their fee from the fund then the balance be released to you. to avoid the idea of making any withdrawal in Amsterdam.

The Gift items you talked about will depend on what you feel,if you feel like giving him Mr David West any Gift then go ahead and do so.or rather it will be proper if you give him Gifts after they have released the fund to you or what do you think?

How's Joylene? My regards to her.

please contact West and brief me about his ideas.i pray he will change his mind.

thanks,

Princess Ifeoma Abonime.

27 November

Dear David,
We're coming up the home straight. It's almost midnight her in Australia and in 12 hours we'll have finished the shearing contract. Then I'm off to Sydney to catch the plane to meet you.

I've had an idea about the fees i've got to pay you. Whichever way I turn it I'm up for bank charges and currency exchange rates. You're holding millions of the princesse's money. Why don't you just take your fees out of the money you're already holding and give me the rest ?

Get back to me pretty quick because I'm catching the Greyhound to Sydney tomorrow night. I've got a couple of sheilas I've got to see in King's Cross before I fly to Amsterdam, a sort of training run before the night with the dutch tarts you're lining up for me.

Kind regards,
Pat

27 November

Dear Princess,
I've e-mailed David West as you suggested. I'll keep you posted on what he says.

About the presents I think I'll get him an Aussie rugby jumper. The bloody Poms beat us in the final of the World Cup last Saturday but at least Australia made the final. You can imagine how I felt, an Australian with Scottish ancestors and the bloody Poms won. I suppose you don't know that Australians call the English "Poms". We don't like them and we hate losing to them, whether it's cricket, rugby or anything at all.

Thanks for asking about Joylene. But don't get the wrong idea. Joylene and I are just good mates. I've known her for years, ever since since she arrived in Tallygaroopna to work at the pub. She acts as a sor of unofficial secretary for us shearers when we're working. If I ever really settle down with a sheila it'll be a classy girl, a princess perhaps !!

THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE IN SECURITY COMPANIES, NOBODY DEDUCTS MONEY BEFORE HANDING OVER. I HOPE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THIS. 27 November

Dear Princess,
Here in the Outback there aren't many women. There are about 50 blokes to each sheila. Joylene's the only sheila in the Tallygaroopna Pub, other than the publican's wife (and she's real ugly), so all the blokes want to be her friend and talk to her. After you've been cuddling sheep all day to get their wool off and doing that in 50C heat, any woman would look terrific.

Honestly, Joylene's a pretty good looking sheila, but there's never been anything between us. I've never even thought about it until you raised the point. Whenever I go looking for sheilas I go down to Sydney or Broken Hill.

I'm sure you'll like Joylene; everyone does. But she hasn'tgot much class. If I go for a sheila she's got to have real class, natural class.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Dear David West,

No worries about the fees. I just thought it might be easier to deduct them from the fund.

Dear Pat McKrutch,

I have not accused you of having anything with Joylene rather for you to know that Joylene is my friend and as such do not want you or any one else to break her heart even if she's real ugly just like you made me understand but do not forget that no matter how ugly a lady may be,she's never ugly down.do you agree with me?

How about the Sheilas over there when compared with what you have in Sydney or Broken Hill. I know you like good things with class but also know that good things do not come so cheap.

All Joylene needs is a brush up and she will have class with me around that's a promise.

You have never mentioned about the lady in your life or you do not want to talk about her?

I have read the response from Mr west and we have no choice than to adhere to his advise.

Pat,I wish to thank you for all your efforts so far.

Yours Truely,

Princess Ifeoma Abonime.

28 November

Dear Princess,
This will have to be quick as I've got to catch the Greyhound bus for Sydney outside the tallygaroopna Pub in just under an hour. After that i'll be off the air until I get picked up by David West's guys in Amsterdam.

I never said Joylene was real ugly. In fact, she's quite pretty. The real ugly one's the publican's wife. Even a mangy dog wouldn't want her. And noone's going to break Joylene's heart, least of all me. She's one of my best mates. Joylene's got her pick of plenty of blokes and she doesn't deprive herself, I promise you. I'm real pleased you consider her as your friend. I know she'll love having a real princess as a friend. And I'm sure just being with you would give anyone heaps of class.

I don't have a particular lady in my life. I know a few girls in Broken Hill and Sydney, even one in Burrumbuttock, but noone permanent or serious. I was waiting to meet you because you look really terrific in your photo with that fantastic necklace, real class. You never know, we might just work something out together. But what would your younger sisters think about you, a real princess, being a shearer's girlfriend, or, perhaps, even his wife ? Let me know.

I'll drop you a line from a cybercafe in Sydney if I can find one.

And don't worry about the fees for David West. With my Visa and Amex cardsI can more than cover that much by pulling it out of an automatic teller machine when I get to Amsterdam.

Kind regards,

Pat

P.S. Do you mind if I call you "Iffy" ? "Dear Princess" seems a bit stiff and formal for Tallygaroopna.

Greece ???? Dear David,

Technical problems with the plane. We've made an unscheduled stop at Athens. The plane has some sort of malfunction with the left wing 3rd aft defibrulator (I've got no idea what that is but that's what the pilot informed us). Firstly we landed here and were told we'd be taking off in under an hour so we would all be staying on the plane. Then it became obvious that the problem was more serious. After 4 hours wait we were all taken off the plane and placed in transit. Now they've just informed us they're waiting for a replacement plane to be flown out from London, the European base for Qantas. Once that arrives we'll board it, all the luggage will be transferred from one plane to the other and then we're to fly on to London.

I've made inquiries about taking a direct flight from Athens to Amsterdam but it's not possible because they can't retrieve my luggage. As soon as I have more information I'll e-mail you. I'm sitting in a cybercafe in the transit lounge. There are about 100 people wanting to use the 5 computers available, so it's not easy.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Dear Pat Mckrutch,

Make sure you do not make mistakes but before you deal with them find out from them who the attorney to Princess Ifeoma Abonime is but if they couldn't get the name please forget them and stop the transaction immediately.

The idea is to avoid going into wrong hands please.

Princess Ifeoma Abonime.

Dear Princess,
What's wrong ? I've just looked at my e-mails for the 1st time since I arrived here yesterday morning. I get the impression that you think something's gone wrong but I don't understand.

Other than the mix up when I arrived yesterday when there was noone there to meet me, everything else has gone off perfectly. I shot off an e-mail to David West asking where his bloke was and just after that Mr Mathins Kezito(that's his name) turned up. He took me to an automatic teller machine and I pulled out the cash to pay the fees. After that he drove me to the office of City security and Finance Co. and handed me over to David West. He's a real nice bloke but I suppose you know that already. He asked to see my passport, the power of attorney and the certificate of deposit. Everything was in order, I paid the fees (I still reckon he's bloody expensive and I told him that to his face), we filled in a pile of papers to do the transfer to the Bank of the Billabong and that was that.

Afterwards, David drove me to the hotel (I don't understand why he's asking me for the hotel details. He chose it, so he must know it), I booked in, we had lunch in the hotel restaurant and then yesterday afternoon and evening he showed me round Amsterdam. I won't go into too many details because you're a real lady and there's things you see in windows in Amsterdam that are a bit raw.

Anyway, Princess, I don't know what you're worried about. Your money's on its way to Tallygaroopna. I'm catching a plane to Paris in a few minutes. One of the blokes in the shearing team has a cousin who works at the Australian Embassy there. He's going to show me round until tomorrow. After that, I'm having a few days in Bali. I'll be back in Tallygaroopna next Wednesday. When are you and your sisters arriving ? Joylene and everyone else at the Tallygaroopna Pub is going to give you all a great Aussie welcome.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

P.S. I've tried the phone number David West gave me in the e-mails but there's no answer. If I get the time I'll try from Paris.

Subject: Do not Deal with the wrong people.
Date: Wed, 3 Dec 2003 08:46:13 +0000 (GMT) Dear Pat Mckrutch,
Yes Actually i was worried because i was in contact with Mr David West of the City Security Co.and informed my attorney that till this very moment, that he has not meet with you so i wonder whom you have been dealing with.

Secondly he informed the attorney that since you were to fly in to Amsterdam from Australia, that you have no business in GREECE because GREECE is never on your Route from Australia to Amsterdam just like you said that your flight developed a problem and your pilot have to stop over at greece until your were later checked into another flight.

And Finally, that you said you were at the british Airways Desk by the Departure while you were surposed to be at the Arrival for the fact that, that is were you were to be picked up all these makes me worried and now you have mailed me to say that you meet with David West.

Please i am advising you should in case you have been talking or dealing with any one, to stop all dealings with who ever you said came to pick you up and informed you that he is from the city security co.

Have you replied to David West? please do so immediately and get back to me.

Regards,
Princess Ifeoma Abonime.

Dear Princess,
I'm completely confused. I fly to Amsterdam via London with plane problems that force the plane to land in Athens. At Amsterdam Airport there's noone there to meet me. Eventually a bloke turns up, takes me to an office where I meet another bloke who calls himself David West. He takes my 7,520 euros, checks out my papers, everythings OK, we fill in some more papers to send the money to my bank in Tallygaroopna and the appointment's over. David West takes me to the hotel he's organised for me, we have lunch, he shows me round Amsterdam, we have a great time and now you're telling me I haven't met David West. If it wasn't David West who was it ? The bloke I met showed me his business card with Dr David West, City Security and Finance Company on it. Have you got a photo of David West you could send me ?

I've got to go. We're going to visit the Eiffel Tower.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Dear David,
Someone's telling a lot of bullshit and it's certainly not me. You start asking me a lot of questions about details that I can't completely remember. I'm not even in Holland anymore and I'm starting to regret going there in the 1st place.

When I flew into Amsterdam I came into the arrival hall at the airport and there was noone with a card with my name on it waiting for me. I've always felt guys with those cards at airports look like dickheads but I suppose they serve some purpose. I waited around a while. Noone came for me so I found my way to the British Airways desk. They said they'd had noone looking for me but they suggested paging which they organised for me. I didn't phone you because it's not my nature to panic and, what's more, not long afterwards a black guy turned up, saying he was from City Security and Finance Co. He didn't offer any identity and I must admit I didn't ask for any. He knew my name; that was enough for me. After I pulled the money out of the automatic teller machine he drove me (he has a dark blue Ford, I think it's called a Monde or something like that) to an office block built of dark red brick. I think it would have been about 20 minutes drive. We went into the building and up a flight of stairs to the 1st floor, along a corridor and into an office that looks like any office in the world. There was never any question of an appointment number. He introduced me to a guy who called himself David West and showed me a business card with that and the company printed on it. We went into a private office. David West (you ?) asked me for the papers which I handed over. He asked me if I had the fees. I said yes and handed over the cash. At no time did he state the amount. He counted it, the amount was exactly what you'd asked me to bring. Then we filled in 3 or 4 forms, I signed them and so did he. He did a couple of things with a computer, told me the money would be in my account when I arrived back in Tallygaroopna and that was that. Afterwards he drove me to the hotel, an Ibis from the Accor group (not too classy frankly for someone who's just done business for millions of dollars). We had lunch (not too classy either) and then he took me into the heart of Amsterdam( he was driving a small white Mercedes). We visited a big square called the Dam, he took me to Anne Frank's house that I wanted to visit and we looked at a couple of canals. I know one of them was called Herringgraft or something like that. We went to a pub and drank a couple of beers and in the evening we had dinner in an Indonesian restaurant. I thought that was funny because I'll be in Bali tomorrow. Afterwards we visited the area where the tarts are. Fantastic. All of them just sitting in the window. He got me a couple of blondes with absolutely huge tits and drove us back to the hotel. We fucked like rabbits all night. I was completely knackered afterwards. Then this morning I got up, the tarts left in a taxi (I didn't have to pay them anything because David West had fixed everything up, like he'd done for the hotel bill) and I caught another one to the airport. From there I flew to Paris where I am now. And I'm leaving here for Bali mid-morning today. I'm staying with the cousin of a guy from Tallygaroopna who works here at the Australian Embassy, so I'm not in a hotel.

I'm sick of this whole story and if I find out I've been screwed somehow, there's going to be hell to pay. Send me your photo and I'll soon tell you if you're the David West I met. I'm starting to suspect that someone has tricked the princess and she deserves better than that, or that someone has pirated your e-mail system.

I'm waiting to read your reply.

Pat McKrutch

Bad news for the bad guys

10 December

Dear Princess,
Sorry about the long silence but the hotel I was staying at in Bali was a long way from Denpasar and it didn't have an internet connection.

I got back to Tallygaroopna early this morning. It's great to be back. But it seems like we've got a problem. As soon as it opened I shot around to the bank to check my account and your money hasn't arrived. The manager's a good bloke and he jumped on the phone straight away to Head Office in Sydney. Nothing there either.

I've got a funny feeling something's awfully wrong. Firstly, David West claims his bloke didn't pick me up at the airport and that he never met me. But I know I was picked up, taken to an office where a bloke who called himself David West (with business card to prove it) took my money and then showed me a good time in Amsterdam. When your David West started jumping up and down saying he'd never met me I e-mailed him to send me his photo. I'm still waiting for it.

Are you sure you can really trust him ? Have you ever met the guy ? Just between you and me, I'm starting to suspect that he's taken both your money and mine. Mine's only chicken feed compared to yours. I've got plenty more but from what you say I gather that's all you had.

Drop me a line pretty soon to give me your feelings.

Kind regards,

Pat McKrutch

Dear David,

I'm back in Tallygaroopna and it looks like there's a big problem. I've already let the princess know earlier today. No money's arrived in my account from Holland. I want to know where the princess' money is. Also where is my 7,520 euros that I paid as fees ?

You reckon you never met me but I know I met a bloke called David West. The only way for me to be sure is for you to send me your photo as I've already asked.

I'm counting on you. I'm sure the princess is too.

Kind regards,
Pat McKrutch

Time for the fat lady to do her number

11 December

Dear Princess,

I sent David West an e-mail asking for his photo so I could see if it was the same guy who met me in Amsterdam. This is what he sent me. It doesn't look anything like the bloke I met. I reckon someone's been having you on all along. I'm convinced your David West in Amsterdam is a crook. And your lawyer's pretty bent as well. And you're about as much a princess as I'm the Queen of England.

Yours most scammingly,

Pat McKrutch (better pronounced Pat My Crutch)

The parting shot !!

11 December

Dear Princess, Mr Tijani and David,

When I was winding this saga down by winding you up I forgot to point out your biggest mistake (other than contacting an experienced 419 scambaiter, of course).

In your original e-mail you spoke about $30 million. But in the e-mail of November 20th from Mr Tijani a certificate of deposit for $105 million was attached. 350% return on investment just to leave the money with a bunch of crooks in Amsterdam is impressive. Or was it that you started out with $105 million, but after sending it to Amsterdam there was only $30 million left ? A loss of 71.43% is just what can be expected from Nigerian 419 scammers.

You're out of your league !!!!!

Goodbye, I'm off to the Tallygaroopna Pub for a couple of cold beers. Joylene's looking better by the minute!!

Yours most scambaitingly,

Pat McKrutch
