FROM THE DESK OF:DR. BUKARI AHMEDAFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADBBILL AND EXCHANGE DEPARTMENT,OFFSHORE OFFICE,OUAGADOUGOU,BURKINA-FASO.

Dearest,
I am the Bill and Exchange(assistant) Manager of the Africa development Bank, DR. BUKARI AHMED.

In my department I discovered an abandoned sum of USD$7.300.000 (SEVEN MILLION THREE HUNDRED U.S.A DOLLARS). In an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his wife and two children in July 2000 in a plane crash.

Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased, as indicated in our banking guidelines but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him in the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I in my department now decided to make this business proposals to you and release the money to you as next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund.

The banking law and guidelines here stipulates that if such money remains unclaimed/abandoned for long time, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner in this transaction is necessary because our late customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner. We agree that 40% of this money will be for you as foreigner partner, in respect to the provision of a foreign account,10% will be set aside for expenses incurred during the business and 50% would be for me and my colleague, after which we shall visit your country for disbursement according to the percentages indicated.

Therefore to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank, and send your account number, your private telephone and fax number for easy and effective communication and location where the money will be remitted.

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or e-mail the text of the application which you shall retype and fax to our foreign remittance maneger, for easy execution of the transaction.

I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is 100% hitch-free on both side. As all required arrangement have been made for the transfer.

You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter.
Trusting to hear from you immediately.
I expect your urgent reply on my email:bukariahmed1@yahoo.fr

Best regards. DR. BUKARI AHMED. BILL AND EXCHANGE (ASSIST.)MANAGER,

Good Morning, Agent Stroganov,

May I be so bold as to ask if you will allow me to jump on this Lad? I'd like to use my new personae, Horace and Opal S. Sens. They seem to be a logical and down-to-earth couple (she, of course, is the colorful one of the pair!) and could take the Lad on a little ride to NeverNeverLand. Lad will think he is on a journey to Wealthville, but we know differently, don't we?

I must away, and set up a new mail account, and start the modalities.

Best, your fiend, raynaz

P.S. Burkina Faso seems to be the newest locale du jour. Everyone I know has some knowledge of "Nigerian scams", so perhaps the Lads think that by changing the country, no-one will be any the wiser!

Mr. Bukari,

I am replying to your recent mail, that you would like someone to act as next of kin to a deceased customer of your bank. Is this a legitimate thing to do? Aren't you worried that you will get into trouble? I'm sure you know what you are doing, and you can figure out how to do this, but I wonder about us? My wife and I would have to do this together, if that's all right.

Would we get into trouble with your bank? That sure wouldn't be a good thing. Will you tell me what you need me to do, and I will talk it over with my wife, and we'll let you know if we can do this with you. We could sure use the money.

Thanks for your time,

Horace Sens

Dear Hosens,
Thank you for your urgent respond to my proposal. As a matter of fact, you have raised a very important point and which is of my concern to respond to you in order to proceed. Actually before i contacted you it is very sure that nothing is going to happen to you as you make up your mind to handle this transaction with me. I will also have no trouble at all having this transaction with you. The legitimacy of this transaction is sure which gave me the confidence and heart to contact you.therefore it shouldn't be any problem or difficulty at all if you and your wife have decided to give me your co-operation. If you are prepared to do business with me, here is the details of this transaction you should read it carefully and I will like to inform you that there is no risk in this transaction, the reason why I contacted you in this transaction is because our late customer Mr ABDUL RASAQ HASIN is a foreigner and an indigene of (Burkinabe) can not stand as next of kin to the deceased customer unless a foreigner. The transfer of this fund is not going to take us more than 14 bank working days, if you sincerely give me your co-operation and full support.
But for now I want you to be following up every process that I will be giving you so that we can acheive this aim.I want you to assure me of your capability of handling this transfer with trust by giving me the following informations about yourself:
1) Your age.
2) Your occupation
. 3)Your identification.
4) Your direct phone number
Base on this I will advice you to feel free, for I studied this transaction very well before contacting you for assistance. Well, having served this bank for so many years now and nearing my retirement I deem it necessary to utilise this opportunity of the present unclaimed sum of money in the account sent inconjuction with the first proposal I sent to you to help myself and my family after my retirement through the investment I will establish in your country with my percentage in the transaction.
There is no doubt about your eligibility as the legal next of kin to our deceased customer and owner of the account number $286-41732-55, with the following reasons:
(a)Before the death of our deceased customer his true next of kin was not indicated to the board of directors of the bank because of the top secrecy and confidentiality of the transactions which our late customer transacted with the various governments in West Africa.
(b)Owning to his failure to indicate his next of kin to the officials of the bank, it is therefore impossible for the board of directors of the bank to verify the next of kin as well as the true heritor of the fund.
(c)And for the above reasons the managements of the bank authorised me officially as the BILL AND EXCHANGE MANAGER / AUDTITING AND ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT of the bank to verify the next of kin to our deceased customer. Therefore, the bank will always abide by my official directions through the official authorisation bestowed on me. And for this reasons you have nothing to fear as your interest and identity will be legally protected.
Now I will like to use this opportunity to tell you the detail information¡¯s concerning our deceased customer. The deceased account holder with our bank was Mr ABDUL RASAQ HASIN, FROM JORDAN National who naturalised here in Burkina Faso for (16) years.
He held account number N¡Æ $286-41732-55, with our bank. He died in an air crash with his family . Since his death, this account has been dormant and nobody has applied to our bank for the release of this money to him or her as the next of kin.
As the Bill and exchange manager of this bank, I have studied this transaction very carefully and I have noted that there are no risks involved. I am here to protect all your interests in this transaction until this money hits your account. Since I am here I shall be giving you all the developmental information from the bank as soon as this transaction commences. I know that you will not disappoint me when this money gets to your country, I have all my hope in this transaction because I shall soon go on retirement.

It is however agreed, as the account owner in this deal to allow you 40% of the entire sum as compensation, 50% will be held on trust for me while 10% will be used to defray any incidental charges and cost during the course of the transaction. I am a simple banker whose credibility is still intact and with my maturity and understanding, I promise to give you the best co-operation. We must hurry up with this transaction so that our bank and the government shall not claim and inherit this money because it has over-stayed. After the bank have approve your application as next of kin to our late customer I will fly down to your country for investment with my own share, but I will advise you to keep it as a top secret because no body again knew about this transaction except you and I.
Awaiting to hear from you urgently,
Best Regards,
Dr. Bukari Ahmed.

For the commencement of this transaction in the bank, I advise you to fill and send the below Application to the bank for immediate attention.

[Setting the Lad straight...]

Dear Bukari Ahmed,

I thought we had sent you a copy of this application, which we filled out and returned to your bank officials, but apparently, the cc function on our mail system is flawed. As you can see, we did make a few changes to the wording of the application, so that it would read more coherently. The intent is exactly the same, but if I wrote the letter, it would have have at least been grammatically correct. The letter you sent appeared to have been written by a sixth-grade dropout.

Here is what I sent to your bank officials, to the e-mail address you provided,

Horace Sens
Madame,
As you can see from the Date of this application, it was filled out and sent on Saturday, October 13, and I want to let you know that THIS IS THE 4th TIME I HAVE SENT IT!! Perhaps you should ask Bukari about its whereabouts. Does he have it on his computer? I have re-worded the document, as it was composed by someone who apparently left school some time in the 5th grade. Now it reads more coherently, and makes sense. The intent, of course, remains intact, but now reads like something composed by someone with an education.

Nevertheless, now the application is in your hand, let's get on with the deal.

My wife, Opal, sends her regards. She said to tell you that "If any women are involved in the transaction, I will personally send her a gift of some jewelry. Find out what she likes." I think she is a very generous soul, and I wholeheartedly agree with her gesture. Will you will tell us what pleases you, and an address where the item can be sent? At the end of this deal, we assure you, that you will get what you deserve. I promise, you have my word on it!

Sincerely, Horace Sens

Dear Mr Horace,

I received your mail. Please I want you to know that the process cannot commence if you don't send the appplication to the bank as i directed you. Because it will not be in my position to present your application to the bank rather it should be sent by you to the bank so that there will be suspicious of any kind.

If only you could understand and do the right thing then we are sure of the process.

God bless you.
Horace Sens

[Irritation and an immediate reply...]

Bukari,

This is the 5th, AND FINAL, time we will send this application! This is ridiculous! I am sending this to you, Bukari, and notice the cc to adbremittancedeptbf@excite.com , that means TO THE BANK, the e-mail address you sent me,which I sent the application #4. Yesterday. This foolishness on your part is not helping my blood pressure!

Are you upset because I've corrected the grammar in the application you sent? I only did that because I cannot send something over my name that appears to have been written by someone who has no education! After all, I am a college professor (retired, yes, but that does not mean that I have put my standards away!)

Why don't you contact the bank yourself, and find out what they are doing with it? Do you think maybe they are drinking on the job, and neglecting their duties to their customers?

Dear Mrs. Ramat Usman,

I am Horace's wife, Opal. I know he has been doing this business with you and Bukari Ahmed, but since we are women, I am sure you won't mind a private mail from me. Shall we keep this between ourselves?

HENCE,YOU ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE SOME PATIENCE UNTIL THE BANK GETS BACK TO YOU

My dear, Horace has been nothing but patient with your bank, and Mr. Ahmed. I've been married to the man for almost 40 years, and believe me when I tell you that what you read from him is nothing. It was only after he had to send our application FOR THE 5TH TIME, to the bank, that he became a bit incensed. It took me 10 minutes of the "special massage" he likes, to calm him down!

Do choose your words more carefully, my dear, you know how easily men can become agitated.

NB: ...i am just an ordinary secretay working ...

You signed your mail on Wednesday:

But in your mail of today: Did you get a promotion? If so, my heartiest congratulations!

Dated the 18th of Oct, has been received and well understood.

Actually, you have asked me to do a thing that is outside the modus operadum of your transaction with this bank. Since you insist to send me a gift, i will advice you to send whatever you have in mind through DHL, in the name of my sister, MRS DJENEBA KERE and send the receipt to me then she will be able to claim it on my behalf.

All you need do is just to address it as follows;

And as soon as it arrives here with the receipt she can get it claimed. As for your husband's transaction with this bank, everything is in process and the bank will be reaching you by next week.

Thanks for your anticipation.

Mrs. Ramat Usman:

I have a name, it is not "Beneficiary". My name is Horace (no middle name) Sens. Use it. I address you by your name. Be so polite as to do the same! What do you mean by this: "...send to this office a scan copy of any of the initial listed identity of your person..." It makes no sense. Do you mean you want a scan of my picture? Why? I can do that, but why?

Also, what is this? "...make a payment of $1,800 Dollars as processing fee. The payment should be made through the counter cashier mrs Aminata Campaore by MONEY GRAM and slip be sent to this office..." This is the first I've heard of $1,800.00. What do you need that much money for? You will be well advised to explain what is going on, Madame!

"...slip be sent to this office..."
Why do you need a slip? Don't you have undergarments of your own?
